What is the Annual Winter Giveaway?
The annual winter giveaway is a package scheme aimed at those truly sleeping rough. We offer a care package with basic necessities such as food, water and hygiene products to those we find on the streets of London.
Over the last three years we have been collecting donations allowing our package scheme to grow dramatically, providing the homeless with essential food, water, toiletries, COVID-19 related items and warm clothing. This allows them to sleep better, eat, and gain access to shops, hostels and shelters. We have also been working closely with a local homeless shelter, to help provide its residents with these packages too.
How does it work?
Every year we recruit volunteers to help us hand out packages that have been carefully hand packed by our team. We go out with a carefully planned route to maximise the chance of finding homeless people amongst the streets we search.
What's in the packages?
Over the years our packages have changed but each care package includes basic necessities, such as:
Canned food
Cereal bars
Snack such as biscuits
Warm clothing or bedding
Tooth brush and tooth paste
Hand sanitiser
Tissue
Water
A card locating local homeless shelters and helplines.
